7 Pillars

The Bible

biblical principlesThe Foundation of All Learning at Noah Webster Academy

At Noah Webster Academy, the Bible is the cornerstone of education, shaping the hearts and minds of students through The Principle Approach®. This method of learning instills a biblical worldview by emphasizing God’s sovereignty, His divine hand in history, and the unchanging principles that guide all areas of life.

Students engage with the Bible and, similarly, with all of their other academic subjects, using the 4 Rs of the Principle Approach®—Research, Reason, Relate, and Record—a structured process that deepens understanding and application of biblical truth:

Research – Students begin with Scripture, studying God’s Word as the primary source of knowledge and wisdom.
Reason – Through guided reflection, they discern God’s principles and how they apply to all aspects of life.
Relate – Students connect biblical truths to their own experiences, history, and academics, fostering a comprehensive biblical worldview.
Record – Writing and journaling help solidify learning, encouraging students to articulate their faith and knowledge with clarity and conviction.

Through daily Bible study, scripture memorization, and historical application, students develop a deep understanding of God's Word and how it influences character, scholarship, and citizenship. The Bible is not just a subject at Noah Webster Academy—it is the foundation upon which every subject is built, integrating faith with academics to cultivate wisdom, virtue, and a strong moral compass in each student.

By engaging in reasoning from Scripture, applying biblical principles, and recognizing God’s providence, students are equipped with the tools to think critically, act with integrity, and fulfill their God-given purpose. At Noah Webster Academy, we are committed to raising up leaders of faith, knowledge, and principle, preparing them to impact the world for Christ.

Academics

academicsAcademics at Noah Webster Academy are based on the Christian, traditional American approach to Education, championed by the Father of American Scholarship & Education, Noah Webster, during the postcolonial era of American history. Use of this traditional, American form of education firmly laid the foundation for the great American success story. Today, NWA delivers a supremely effective, modernized version of this educational approach to its students.

At NWA, parents can expect their child to learn and achieve academically at a level one to two years beyond their public school counterparts, and in the process, build the character & leadership skills necessary to help restore our Great American Republic.

NWA places a solid emphasis on the core subjects of Bible, literature, history, math and science, using effective tutorial methods that recognize/maximize the various ways in which students learn and allows them to progress individually at an appropriate pace. This style of teaching and learning ensures that students develop a deep understanding of each subject, are able to apply their learning, and become a deeper thinker & problem solver in the process.

A significant focus on classical literature at NWA requires students at all grade levels to experience, in their entirety, many of the great, classical pieces of literature. NWA students also receive robust instruction in American history with an emphasis on the US Constitution, American founding principles, and patriotism.

In addition to the core academic subject areas, NWA students also receive instruction in Latin, Greek, Spanish,** geography, and leadership.

Dynamic Flex Scheduling®

Noah Webster Academy uses a proprietary system of living, breathing scheduling that adjusts to the changing needs, dispositions, and energy levels of students/teachers throughout the school day. Flex Scheduling® was developed by the NWA founders to create an atmosphere more conducive to deeper learning and positive engagement. Flex scheduling delivers students from the monotony & repetition of an overly regimented daily schedule.

With Flex Scheduling®, the daily time at which students learn a particular academic subject varies throughout the week as well as the daily amount of time students devote to a subject. Within this model students also acquire some autonomy, allowing them to strategically choose additional instruction time in an area of need.

Dynamic Flex Scheduling helps students develop a level of Christian self-government within their educational journey and delivers a more enjoyable and captivating daily schedule for them as a result.

**Students who enroll for kindergarten are expected to become functionally fluent in the Spanish language by the time they have completed the 8th grade at NWA.

Patriotism

patriotismHonoring God and Country

"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance." Psalm 32:12

Patriotism is a cornerstone of our educational philosophy. We instill a profound appreciation for America’s founding principles, values, and Christian heritage. By studying the history of liberty, the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the sacrifices of those who came before us, students develop a sense of gratitude, duty, and responsibility. We inspire them to be informed citizens who cherish freedom, uphold justice, and lead with humility and service. Our goal is to prepare students to contribute positively to society and honor both God and country in their actions.

Through our unique methods of instruction within all academic areas, Noah Webster Academy weaves a golden thread of American patriotism. Deliberately teaching patriotism helps students build a sense of identity, belonging and purpose within American society. Patriotism, coupled with solid Biblical instruction and faith, creates the cornerstone of a strong moral foundation.

Research has shown that instruction in patriotism correlates with positive civic attitudes and behaviors, thereby producing great American citizens.

Patriotism is taught at NWA through the robust instruction and study of American history, American heroes, the US Constitution and other founding principles & documents, patriotic songs & performances, and through consistent recognition and honor of our American forces.
Many activities at NWA center around patriotism, including our daily outdoor flag ceremony, Constitution Week, Veterans Day Celebration, NWA Constitution Bee, US Navy & Marine Corps Birthday Ball, Great Americans Day, the Decades Project, and an annual middle school field trip to Boston and Washington, D.C., to name just a few.

Family and Community

“May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accordance with Jesus Christ” Romans 15:5-7

Recognizing the Biblical principle that parents are the primary educators of their children, we view one of our roles as a supportive extension of the family. We foster open communication and active collaboration with parents to ensure that each child’s unique needs are honored and nurtured. Our approach strengthens family bonds and reflects the shared values of home and school. At the same time, we also believe that education flourishes in a vibrant community where members actively contribute their time, talents, and resources. Our commitment to community engagement enriches the educational experience, creating opportunities for students to learn from and serve alongside community members. This connection fosters meaningful relationships and prepares students to be compassionate, contributing members of society.

These skills include financial literacy, household management, etiquette, cooking, civic duty, practical trades, and everyday problem-solving. By engaging established community members with expertise in these areas, we provide students with hands-on learning experiences that build confidence and competence for the future.

The Student Work Study Program at Noah Webster Academy equips students with real-world job experience and a strong work ethic by engaging them in meaningful roles that support school operations. From custodial tasks, tutoring, office assistance, food service, and landscaping to teacher and library aides, students learn responsibility, stewardship, and teamwork. As they progress, students gain experience writing resumes, participating in interviews, and receiving performance reviews, further developing their real-world professional skills.

Grounded in biblical principles, the program fosters character, accountability, and service, preparing students to succeed in life and contribute positively to their community.

Physical Fitness

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor God with your bodies.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Noah Webster Academy emphasizes the importance of physical fitness and an active lifestyle as part of a well-rounded education. By encouraging regular physical activity and fostering a love for health and wellness, we help students develop habits that contribute to lifelong vitality, discipline, and success.
